Spring Magic
The Tulips of Skagit Valley

"Born small in British Columbia, the Skagit River twists and tumbles its way south then west through Washington’s North Cascades mountains. Along the way, thousands of wilderness creeks add to the volume of the river until, by the time it reaches Puget Sound, the Skagit is wide and strong. It is here that the ancient Skagit River formed the rich estuary delta known today as the Skagit Valley. And it is here that descendents of early Dutch immigrants carry on the tradition of producing one of the most beautiful flowers of the ages — the tulip. Every year, amid eye-popping fields of colorful blossoms, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival celebrates the tulip, the Skagit Valley community, and the arrival of a new spring."
